This was seen bicycling on the Signal Ditch Trail in Northglenn Colorado. The supply of mushrooms is greatly reduced here in Colorado. This specimen was snuggled tightly to the ground. It almost looked like a lost golf ball at first sight! -
At last, we saw another example of this forest 'jelly'. Our first came about in the North Plains, state of Oregon in 2005. This was in the Snoqualmie Washington, Alpine Lakes hiking region. This photo was taken in Macro mode on hike along the Pacific Crest Trail section 2000. September 2006. -

Wild looking, isn't it?!! A macro shot taken on a hike - Thunder Creek Trail, North Cascades Washington in October of 2007. This was by far the most interesting and beautiful specimen we saw on this trail.
