Lovely color! There were abundant croppings of these sweet mushrooms growing everywhere along the Thunder Creek trail hike that we did in the North Cascades Washington in mid October 2007. -

Another shot of these most unusual (to us anyway) growths. These looked to be BLOOMING lichens. See an ealier picture in this gallery of the pink ones. This was the standout hike where we also later ran into a BEAR just off the trail. Mark scared it up a tree and we skeedaddled down the trail!!! -

Thunder Creek Trail, North Cascades Washington in October of 2007. There was an amazing abundance and variety of mushrooms in this area at this time of year. These are simple but very lovely mushrooms.
