Plant location: Found: Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, and Silver Canyon near Bishop - California
Earliest sighting was near Lone Pine on March 19, 2017. Pods were fully developed by March 31, 2017. Have also sighted this species in Black Canyon (Bishop area). This species is found only in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Northwestern Mexico.Plant -
Bloom season: March through June, typically.

Gleaming and glorious in the morning sun! The plant was high above the road in a rocky embankement. Many of the specimens we have sighted appear to like a higher placement. -
