Rose Globemallow (Sphaeralcea ambigua var. rosacea), family Malvaceae (Mallow)
Not much of a flower shot, we hope to find a better instance of this variety of Sphaeralcea ambigua in the future. The bloom does however show a 'key' characteristic to it's identity: the anthers (the expanded, apical, pollen bearing portion of the stamen). This is aside from the color of the blooms, being a pale pink to white. The anthers of var. rosacea are purple to gray, per FLORA OF NORTH AMERICA. See their complete information here. Another feature of var. rosacea is the foliage of the plant. Click on the foliage slide for more. No recorded native american uses.
